Preparation phase which included organizing MHSSCC resources, continuing virtual service delivery actions, and implementing COVID-19 safety precautions. Career Center services offered virtually. Staff members working remotely and returning voicemails within one business day. Appointments and workshops were held through virtual meetings and by telephone.
Virtual services continue as the primary method for employment services and career services, and include online applications and trainings. Virtual workshops that are currently available and additional workshops that are being developed will be offered to customers. These include “Resume Writing,” “Interviewing Skills,” “Job Search/Networking Strategies,” and “TORQ” – Transferable Occupation Relationship Quotient, among others. Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants are welcome to use MHSSCC services, along with the general public.
During this phase of reopening, the Career Centers will begin to provide in-person services to customers by appointment only and may include the resource area and computer lab. Some virtual services will be continued. Onsite staffing will be limited to no more than 50%. Social distancing guidelines will apply, and the center will be structured so as to maintain six feet of distance between employees and customers. All visitors will be required to wear a face mask and wash their hands immediately upon entering the MHSSCC, and hand sanitizers will be available for use. Frequent cleaning of all touch points and employee workspaces will be maintained, and the Career Centers will be closed between shifts for cleaning. A plexiglass shield has been installed in the reception area.
Career Centers will be open to the public on an appointment-only basis, and some virtual services will be continued. Staffing will be increased to 100%. In-person workshops requiring computer labs will resume with limited seating compliant with state gathering guidelines.
